Legendary Death Metal Vocalist Frank Rini to Rejoin Internal Bleeding for American Tour

Bluntface Records is proud to announce to the metal world that Frank Rini, the legendary vocalist for Slam-NYDM metal Icons Internal Bleeding during the mid 1990s, will be joining the band once again for the majority of their US tour.

Frank will be fronting Internal Bleeding on the upcoming Bloodletting Tour between 10/12 - 11/2, including the one-off headlining show in Ohio. “It will be amazing to see long-time fans, new fans, friends, and bands.”  Quotes Rini, “My vocals now are stronger than when I fronted Internal Bleeding in the 90's.  I’m primed, ferocious, and promise to give you a great live experience. …and I am blessed to be asked back in this capacity. Get ready to hear me sing long-time classics as well as songs I’ve never been on, adding my own tones to them. The set list is killer!”

Internal Bleeding, now signed to Unique Leader Records, was the definitive Slam Death Metal band to originate out of Long Island, NY in the 90’s.  They have been highly regarded as one of the most influential death metal bands to ever come from the NY area, cited along with top names such as Suffocation and Pyrexia.  Formed by Chris Pervelis and Billy Tolley in 1991, Internal Bleeding quickly gained a reputation of being one of the hardest working, most brutal death metal acts ever.  Now with the addition of Frank Rini (their vocalist for the first two albums) for at least 75% of the upcoming tour, Internal Bleeding will bring back some fond memories for older fans while bringing the slam to some new fans like never before.  This is a tour that absolutely shouldn’t be missed.

For more information, check out Frank’s post.

Be sure to check out Unique Leader Records for Internal Bleeding’s latest album Corrupting Influence due out on Oct 19th, 2018.  And don’t forget to check back with Bluntface Records for brand new music from bands like Pontifex, Macabre Eternal, Markradonn, Abvulabashy, and Chasing Sanity.

Bluntface Records has signed two new bands heading into the final part of 2018.  Macabre Eternal, fronted by long time death metal veteran Nate Gore looks to bring old school early 90’s death metal to BFR with a vengeance.  Expect brutal, grinding death metal reminiscent of early Cancer, Massacre, Deicide, and Disincarnate from Macabre Eternal to crush your brain.  Rounded out by a powerful rhythm section that includes Hector on Drums and Anvi on Bass, Macabre Eternal will be releasing a CD in 2019 on BFR.  Look for a single from them coming soon in the fall of 2018.

Not to be outdone, Erik Martin, Vocalist for underground sensation Skin Drone brings his musical endeavor Chasing Sanity to Bluntface Records.  Unofficially called a “Hybrid” metal project, Chasing Sanity brings together a variety of emotional and musical styles to create a new, challenging listen, yet is catchy and memorable at the same time.  Have a listen to the new single “Catharsis” and you’ll understand.  Expect a full length release from Chasing Sanity in 2019 on Bluntface Records.

The Brutal and Violent black metal outfit ABVULABASHY has signed to Bluntface Records for the release of their upcoming album Revengeance.

Unleashed in early 1998, Abvulabashy became a respected underground black metal band in the global scene. As the years progressed, the band had various lineup changes and ultimately only founder Iddimu Akhkharu remains to spread the christkrushing hate of Abvulabashy to the masses of rabid and insane black metal fans.

Fans of Profanatica, Early Darkthrone, and Early Mayhem would slit their own throats upon hearing what Abvulabashy brings forth. Hate, Aggression, and Devastation-this is what Abvulabashy is all about and has been since its beginning.

After 20 years and a series of self produced, raw releases, in 2018 ABVULABASHY has teamed up with Bluntface Records to begin recording their 3rd full length album with a new line up, an updated, professional production, and will feature a more refined aggression not heard on their previous work.

Revengeance features an all new demonic line up with Nvctemeron on Guitar and Drums and Alanthor Lyzantyhl on bass guitar, and will be Executive Produced by Haniel Adhar (Markradonn, Pontifex).

The future looks dark and bleak for Abvulabashy, and they’d have it no other way. Uncompromising and unrelenting, Abvulabashy seeks approval from no one.  If you want nice and pretty music, then listen to top 40 pop music.  If you want to burn in hellfire and brimstone, then ABVULABASHY is your new master.

Joplin, Missouri's favorite Crossover/Crust/Punk/Metalheads, Gravehuffer, have finalized a deal with Bluntface Records for release of their latest album, Your Fault on vinyl.

The vinyl edition of Your Fault marks the first official vinyl release for BFR. The band is currently in the studio recording two brand new tracks for inclusion on this version of the release to commemorate their partnership with BFR, and the subsequent release of Your Fault on the vinyl platform. Carlo Regadas (ex-Carcass/current guitarist of Monstrance) will lend his talents on one of the bonus tracks for a guest solo spot.

Often hailed as "N.W.O.B.M. meets the early Earache catalog", Gravehuffer brings a unique blend of influences into their music and channels it all through a gritty honesty with a healthy disregard for genre boundaries and limitations.

With James Hiser on vocals, Ritchie Randall on guitar, and a rhythm section comprised of Mike Jilge on bass, and Larry Deardorff on drums, along with a collective style that blurs the lines between Punk, Metal, Grindcore, and down-tuned Sludge laden Doom; Gravehuffer should feel right at home on Bluntface Records for this release.

Presales of the Vinyl edition of Your Fault are currently tentatively scheduled for August with additional release information to follow.

Revolution of the Musician

Revolution of the Musician

When someone "gives" you money, do you think they don't expect something?

If they do not say they want something in return, then one of the following is true:

1) It is a gift from a relative

2) They are just stupid and have money to burn

3) They are lying to you and really do want something; but they just have not told you yet, because what they want is far more valuable than the money they gave you.

So, in reality, if someone "invests" in you, they own a part of you. Think about that. Watch Shark Tank for a crude example.

Musicians, ask yourself a question: why would you want someone to "invest" in you, IE, give you a bunch of money that really isn't yours that you will have to pay back while the person who lent it to you owns a substantial part if not all of your art?

Why would you want to do that?

Why would you want to "owe" someone something when in reality, they already own you?

The old model was that a record label would hand an advance check against sales to an artist, and from that check they were responsible for paying expenses such as production, post production, exchange for a % or all of the publishing rights. The artist would then pay back the advance out of their own royalties from the record sales, which is why we see these pitiful royalty checks that musicians post all over the internet, from years ago up until recently.

The old model was based on a label "investing" in an artist, but at a price: they own you, your art, your brand, and they control what happens, when, and with whom. Essentially, you sell your soul to have a "record deal", but these sort of deals usually never favor the artist, especially ones that focus on a smaller niche market that doesn't result in high volume sales.

Basically, those deals suck

The new model is one where the musician is skilled in the arts of business, accounting, revenue generating, Profit vs. Loss, marketing, production, artist development, and managing and booking. These skills were frequently shared by many, many people who had their hands in the proverbial cookie jar. These people all needed to get paid in the past, and usually large sums of money. Now? Pfft. They are obsolete, because technology and the internet have provided the musician with literally every tool they need to become successful, with a fraction of the cost and with NO ONE owning any part of one's creation. The musician IS now officially in control of their own destiny. They no longer need to be the push-over peons that the rest of the industry can take advantage of. Now, they have everything they need to give the finger to traditional record labels and management companies and do it for themselves.

Concepts such as crowdfunding, on demand services, and social media as well as DIY home recording and post production have eliminated the need for the artist or musician to rely on big corporate conglomerates and sleazy executives who traditionally have taken advantage of passionate but naive musicians. The musician can now do all of it themselves, with minimal executive representation. It is truly a "revolution of the musician", and the time is NOW to break free from the cliché stereotype of the "starving artist" who dreams of landing a record deal to make all their hopes and dreams come true.

Well, kiddo, time to realize one very important thing: YOU are the only person who can make your own dreams come true. You have to work for it. You no longer can be JUST a musician. You have to be a multifaceted, dynamic person with skills in various different areas of expertise. You cannot trust or rely on anyone else to give you a break. This is not American Idol. This is not fairy tale land. This is reality and you make your own breaks, and you must understand that your goals mean more to you than they do anyone else, so you must invest in yourself: time, money, training, education, etc...If you invest in yourself, who do you owe? You owe to yourself, and no one else.

Being in control of your own destiny is a powerful mindset to be in. It frees you from the whims of others and allows a much clearer path for you to achieve your goals. And YOU are directly responsible for your success...and subsequently your failures. But in the end your art is your own, and the freedom you gain from being totally immersed in your art with no "corporate entanglements" is an utterly euphoric experience.

Or, you can just be a "rockstar". And one day, broke, while someone is getting rich off your life's work. Does that seem fair to you?

Think about it.

The NEW Bluntface Records is focused on creating self-reliant musicians who are skilled in many different aspects of the music industry. We aim to educate musicians and make them more capable; more "independent", if you will. We will be holding trainings on things such as management, production, business, accounting, the mentality of being successful, etc...for our artists in the months to come.

We provide resources and support for artists, and have established a network of musicians, artists, engineers, and other skilled people to support our artists in the development of their passion. We are launching a PR division to assist in not only promotion but in driving up sales by accessing passionate fans who love what you do.

We encourage the musician to take ownership of their art, work, success, and failures, and promote a team-work atmosphere. We are all about work ethic and focus. We support true art and expression, and in order to do that, we support the artist and their vision. The artists in our community are committed to supporting one another, because we are all in the same boat going to the same place...

Not everyone will find our unorthodox approach to be of benefit to them. Those people are not good candidates for this label. There are those musicians that are still chasing the proverbial brass ring and never end up grabbing it.

That's because the game is rigged

Time for you to change the rules of the game to favor you, your art, and your vision. Time to take the bull by the horns and make it do your bidding. The time is NOW.

Are you ready?

-Haniel Adhar CEO Bluntface Records.

BLUNTFACE RECORDS IS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP: Haniel Adhar of Markradonn is the new CEO of Bluntface Records.

Label founder and Owner Otto Kinzel IV, the main man behind the critically acclaimed metal-industrial project Skin Drone, has stepped down as the leader of Bluntface Records.

Founded in the early 2000s, Bluntface Records has developed a reputation for releasing Avant Garde, unique, and off-the-beaten-path, innovative music, which Otto calls “Left of Center” music. Innovation has always been the key to Bluntface, and Otto sought out projects that kept pushing the dial farther and farther away from the norm. This was culminated in 2013 when Otto signed the first Brass Death Metal band in the history of Florida, Markradonn. Markradonn went on to win several awards for their first two EPs, including “Top Discovery” of 2013 by The Metal Gallows (Final Dying Breath) and “Top EP of 2015” by Kingdom Promotions (The Serpentine Deception). It was Otto’s belief in a low budget, start up pilot project that allowed Markradonn to grow and advance, while raising money from fan support to push the band to achieving its goals.

It was this partnership between Markradonn and Otto that lead to the transferring of ownership of the label to someone who had the vision, passion, and methodology to continue Otto’s dream to “bring the music industry to its knees” with innovation and integrity. That person to lead the charge now as the new CEO of Bluntface Records is Haniel Adhar, the visionary leader behind Markradonn. This was a natural progression as Haniel always had a dream of running a label that supported underground and independent artists with a personal vision for their musical expression. “I cannot think of anyone else who would be better suited for this job than Haniel. His work ethic and passion are unparalleled”, said Otto.

Haniel is dedicated to preserving the essence and the spirit of Bluntface, as established by Otto at its inception. The new Bluntface Records will utilize innovative funding methods to raise much needed capital and revenue for artists. Haniel is an outspoken, voracious supporter of Musician’s Rights and respect for bands, and it was his article several years ago protesting “bigger” bands in the metal scene who treated local bands and less known artists like crap that lead to the highly successful Operation Underground compilation and promotional campaign. He brings that commitment to the table as the new label executive, assuring that bands get the support they need to bring their vision into reality.

Bluntface Records was started by Otto to push the envelope of music, and one can only expect the label to get even more extreme under Haniel. New music will include “Extreme Electronic”, “Extreme World Music”, “Innovative Industrial and Noise”, as well as left-of-center death and black metal that have an Avant Garde twist to them.

Otto is not going to ride off into the sunset just yet; he will be actively involved in the newly formed Bluntface PR, an innovative Public Relations and promotional division of Bluntface Records that focuses heavily on forming a stronger bond with the fans while seeking out new ravenous fans for the label’s artists. Bluntface PR will work very closely with Haniel and the Bluntface artists to get the music to the right people and the right fans. Current BFR staff member and one-half of Skin Drone Erik Martin will still be on board in an increased role for both BFR and BFPR.

things the fans can expect from The New Bluntface Records include Bluntface Magazine, a zine dedicated to bringing Bluntface artists closer to the fans with in-depth interviews, production updates, and so much more; The Bluntface Radio Show, an internet based radio program that showcases Bluntface artists and pioneering artists who influenced BFR artists and bands; Innovative merch, live showcases, interactive on-line events, full service production, Live DVDs, Vinyl Releases, guest session musicians, and so much more.

2017 is a new beginning for Bluntface Records, Otto, Haniel, and all of the Bluntface artists. Expect new releases this year from Krebs, Isolated Antagonist, Markradonn, Skin Drone, and Haniel’s new Black Metal venture Pontifex, a new-generation-of-metal-meets-oldschool-black-metal band that features concept driven lyrics that delve deep into existential darkness and haunting atmospheric symphonic passages.
